Orion Energy Partners has closed on commitments totaling $905 million so far for its latest energy-infrastructure credit fund, surpassing its target, and likely will wrap up with $1 billion in commitments, a person familiar with the matter said.
The $120.5 billion New York State Teachers’ Retirement System and the Florida State Board of Administration, which invests the $160.7 billion Florida Retirement System pension fund, are two institutional investors that backed the fund, public documents show. Florida committed $150 million while the New York pension pledged as much as $200 million.
Placement advisor Asante Capital Group is placing the fund.
