We are pleased to announce the close of Portobello’s mid-market private equity Fund V at €710 million, significantly exceeding its €600 million target and making it the largest active private equity fund in Spain today.

Fund V attracted strong support from a broad group of global institutional investors, including asset managers, family offices, consultants and pension funds.

The Fund will maintain Portobello’s focus on mid-market companies, primarily in Spain and selectively in Italy and Portugal, taking majority positions with the aim of supporting growth and expansion through increased production capacity, market and product portfolio development, and additional working capital. Fund V will continue Portobello’s longstanding strategy of predominantly primary and proprietary origination, acquiring leading niche-market companies at attractive entry multiples, and creating value through internationalisation, sector consolidation through buy-and-build strategies, and the professionalisation of management teams.
